In this episode we revisit three films that should have excited us, but barely registered a blip on our collective radar. With Alien: Covenant, Kong Skull Island, and Ghost in the Shell available on disc and to stream the Regular Joes take a second look. How do the franchise films measure up to their predecessors? How does the live action adaptation stack up to the anime that spawned it? Which of these films finds Barry and Tod on polar opposite ends of the like/dislike spectrum? Also, French Director Luc Besson is having a tough summer. First Valerian: City of a Thousand Planets was a critical and commercial failure, and this week he secured a position on Dave's "list." Find out why. All this plus Random Topics and a brand new segment called “If You Could.” Thanks for listening!

This is it! More than four years in the making, the stupendous, the amazing, the mind-blowingly awesome 200th (or there abouts) episode of the Regular Joe’s Podcast! OK. To be honest, what you’re really getting is a whole lot like the last 199 episodes. Good friends getting together to talk about and share the stuff they enjoy with each other and you. For this bicentennial episode Barry Dave and Tod are joined by their good friend Derryl DePriest. The four cover a wide range of topics, most of which came from you, our listeners. Well many of these questions and topics may sound familiar some of the answers will surprise you, as they did each of us. Thanks for listening!

The 2017 San Diego Comic Con has come and gone. Without a single reference to actual comic books, the Regular Joe's give a rundown of the most interesting aspects, to them anyways, of the world's premier pop culture event. What film and TV trailers and teasers have caught their interest, and what toys and collectibles are they looking most forward to? SPOILER it's going to be an expensive year for the three of them. All this plus What's in the Box. Thanks for Listening!

Continuing the Regular Joe's quest to record despite geographical obstacles, this week Tod remotes in from an undisclosed location on the northern tip of the Bermuda Triangle. Hint: there is lots of rum there. First up there a healthy shot of Random Topics, encompassing both Barry's fears about Star Wars ep 8 and Tod's unsustainable optimism about Star Trek Discovery, followed by a chaser, in the form of a brief, mostly spoiler free (shhh…Woody Harrelson dies…badly) review of War for the Planet of the Apes. Then another shot of Random, and that's about it. What more can you expect, we're on vacation. Thanks for listening!

It been a week since Spider-Man Homecoming swung into theaters, so, really, you should have seen it by now. The Regular Joes give their thoughts on the third big screen interpretation of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko's enduring, and endearing, wall crawler. How Does Tom Holland stack up against his predecessors? How does this Spidey, now under the creative wing of Marvel, mesh with his MCU brethren? And, most importantly, why isn't Aunt May Hotter? Lastly, find out where the RJ team rank this film among the three previous 2017 comic book films. And, yes, there will be SPOILERS! Thanks for Listening.

This weekend the Regular Joes met up at Eternal Con on Long Island. Find out who they saw, what they bought and what their general impressions were of the show. In honor of the Independence Day holiday (as opposed to the 1996 film) the guys talk about what would have been a "Patriotic Film'" Desert Island DVD pick if the segment ever came together. Next up, a round of What's in the Box, followed by the always interesting Fun With Flashlights. Add in some Random topics, simmer over low heat for roughly 60 min, and you have ep 196. "We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight!  We’re going to live on! We’re going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!” and thanks for listening!

The Regular Joes use this week's episode to catch up on accumulated Random Topics, including their thoughts on director Ron Howard (Apollo 13) taking the pilot seat for the Han Solo film. They offer up an RJ Pick, sharing something that is useful, particularly if you are 60's era Batman. Revisiting Desert Island DVD, they choose Films with a toy association, some of which may surprise you. There's a round of What's in The Box, and, despite Dave's philosophical objection to making plans or setting goals, they briefly discuss what they hope to accomplish in the second half of 2017. Yes, it's a Wheel of Segments.  Thanks for playing…er, listening!

Considering this podcast was founded over a love of toy collecting, it’s been a while since we devoted an entire episode to toys, but in this episode we do. First up we check in on the status of Hot Toys. Which upcoming offerings hold the most interest, what we've been waiting for seemingly forever, and which figures Barry has just added to his legion of Stormtroopers. On the B side Tod gives an update on his visit to GI Joe Con 2017 in Orlando including some info from his Adventure Team design history panel with Derryl DePriest. All this plus a marathon round of Random Topics and What's in The Box. Thanks for listening!

On this week's episode, Dave, Barry and Tod discuss auctions, more precisely prop actions such as the currently running Profiles in History auction. Dave offers some advice from personal experience and everyone gives their "cost is no option, bidding list." But first the Joes remember sixties icon Adam West, his defining role as Batman, and how he made a career of playing a version of his public persona. All this plus an unusually shared list of random topics. Same Bat Time, Same Bat Channel, thanks for listening!

Got it in Four. With the release of Wonder Woman the DC cinematic universe finally has a film that is a hit with fans, critics, and legions of little girls everywhere. As the first big budget superhero film to feature a female lead, and the largest opening ever for a film directed by a woman, Wonder Woman has already made history, now we find out where Barry, Dave and Tod come down on it. Does it bear too much similarity to a certain other film within the genre? How does this cinematic incarnation of WW hold up to her four-color origins? And does this make any of them even slightly less apprehensive about the upcoming Justice League? The Joes also take time out to revisit the previous, often obscure, small screen interpretations of the Amazon princess, from 1967, 1974, 1975 and 2011. All this plus Random Topics, What's in the Box, and the winner of Dave's custom Star Trek prop give away. Thanks for listening.
